Put the 9th and 10th of July in your diaries because Randlay Colts will be holding its annual tournament, 2016 is our 30th anniversary year so we're hoping to make this the biggest and best one yet.
The tournament caters for around 100 teams and is extremely popular. Last year we were fully subscribed and had teams entering from as far afield as Wales, Birmingham and Liverpool. LUCy ALLAN MP Presents trophies and medalsLucy Allan MP and her husband Robin visited the tournament and managed to watch a few games with parents before she very kindly very kindly presented medals and trophies to our Saturday winners and runners up.
On the Saturday we had teams from many local teams including Lawley Lightmoor, Wrockwardine Wood and also other teams that had traveled from other areas such as Shrewsbury, Oswestry, Flint in Wales and Market Drayton. Our 2014/16 under 16's team returned to play the 2009 County Cup Winners v the 2015 Double Cup Winning Team in the battle of the Cup Winners. A really successful day and we look forward again to next year. Over the weekend of the 4th and 5th July, we will be holding our annual tournament.
We have over 90 teams entering from all over Telford, West Midlands and further afield like Manchester, Stoke and Birmingham. Our tournament is for age groups under 7 to under 14's. Under 7's to Under 12's will be 7v7 and the under 13's and 14's will be played as 9v9. On Saturday we will be having our local MP Lucy Allan presenting Trophies and Medals, the Telford and Wrekin Mayor Leon Murray and his wife Mayoress Barbara Murray will attend Sunday accepting a donation from Randlay Colts towards the Mayors Charities. We look forward to seeing you there!
